Platinum #208: Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey there! Man, as a huge Marvel fan I was really waiting until all episodes of this game have been released so that I can finally play it. And I tell you, it was worth waiting. What is the game all about? As the name implies, the game is about Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot, the so-called Guardians of the Galaxy . The game follows the same spirit of the movies but isn't connected with them . The jokes are good and the music is just awesome. It’s not as good as the movies but if you liked them, you’ll also enjoy this game. Just like any other Telltale game, it comes in 5 episodes and in each you learn more about the backstory of one Guardian. You’ll also meet / fight some well-known characters like Nebula or the infamous Thanos. I don’t want to spoil too much of the story but be prepared for guarding the galaxy. ;-) By the way, one doesn't simply leave the game before the credits of episode 5 are over! What about trophies? It’s a Telltale game so you don’t have to ...

100% #48: Hatoful Boyfriend

Hey there! As announced, I’ll also post about 100% games from now on. The first game I want to write about is Hatoful Boyfriend , which has been free for PS+ members recently. What is the game all about? Hatoful Boyfriend is the weirdest Otome (Visual Novel) games I’ve played so far. In this game, you must you’re a girl who attends school and dates birds. Yes, birds!   There are various choices and endings in this game. If you managed to get all endings, you’ll be able to play through the so-called BBL ending, which is very long compared to the other endings. In my opinion, the whole game is completely bullshit! What about trophies? Basically, all you need to do is reaching all different endings. There are 14 different endings, which take about 10-15 minutes each. After that you’ve access to the BBL ending. This playthrough takes much much longer and is the most annoying trophy in the game. If I’m not completely wrong, this playthrough took me about an hour on the Vita. Maybe text...

Summing Up the Past #10: The 100% Games

Hey there! Wow, I never thought that I’d ever make one of these posts again. Seem like I was wrong. As I’m going to play a few 100% games in the near future, I thought it might also be worth talking about them. What are 100% games? The only difference between 100% games and “normal” PlayStation games is, that 100% games don’t have a Platinum Trophy. And in general, they have much lesser points. Typically, in every 100% game you can get 285-315 points – with a few exceptions. This is very low, if you compare it to games which have a Platinum Trophy, as there you can usually get 1140-1230 points. Just because they don’t have a Platinum Trophy it doesn’t necessarily mean that these games are cheaper, easier and / or shorter. In fact, there are a few 100% games available which require more skills and take a lot more time to complete than many Platinum games. And just because they’re only worth a few points it doesn’t mean that it’s not worth going for them. There are also many 100% games a...

Warden (Book 1: Wendigo Fever) is in an Audible Promotion!

I'm pleased to announce that Wendigo Fever - the first book in my Warden series - is currently on sale for just $1.99 as part of Audible's "Treat Yourself" sale. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time I've had an audiobook included in any type of Audible promotion, so I'm pretty excited. The Warden series has been successful for me, although not on the same level as my other series so I was quite surprised by this (in a good way, I might add). I wish I could say I did something to be selected, but I didn't.  (At least nothing that I'm aware of.)  As far as I know, the selection process for this is somewhat akin to being picked for the Kindle Daily Deal or Audiobook of the Day: it's something we mere mortals aren't allowed to glimpse.  Regardless, I feel blessed to have this opportunity.  For those interested in seeing what other audiobooks are on sale, you can look here . ***If you are interested in receiving information about my ...

Platinum #207: My Name is Mayo (Vita Version)

Hey there! Finally, My Name is Mayo has been released in the EU PSN store, or at least in most of the European countries, and I could play this game on my PlayStation Vita. What is the game all about? For everyone who doesn’t know this infamous game, it’s considered as the easiest Platinum Trophy of all times by many players. There’s literally no story. All you must do is clicking a jar of mayo 10,000 times! Okay, sometimes you must switch the “outfit” of the jar but that’s it. What about trophies? As already mentioned above, all you must do is clicking at the mayo jar 10,000 times. At the beginning, you must switch “outfits” every 10-500 clicks to unlock trophies and proceed with the “story” but from 5,000 clicks onwards you just keep clicking. Reaching 10,000 clicks will be a relief for your thumb and reward you with a new Platinum Trophy. The whole game shouldn’t take you more than 30-60 minutes. If you play the PS4 version, a turbo controller would be a great help. A turbo control...

Platinum #206: The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk (EU Version)

Hey there! This year, I already played both versions of The Inner World (EU + NA). I hated every second of this game and I thought it couldn’t get worse. Oh boy, I was teached a lesson. The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is even worse than its prequel. What is the game all about? You continue the story of flute-nose Robert, the last wind monk. The game catches up the story from its prequel and you’ll find yourself back in Asposia. Here you must solve typical Point & Click puzzles to advance with the story. The design and mechanics of The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk are exactly the same is in the first game. If you enjoyed The Inner World , you’ll also like this game. If you hated its predecessor, like me, or don’t like Point & Clicks in general, it’s better to not buy this game. What about trophies? The trophies are the same as in The Inner World . You must beat the game without using any hints, do some random shit and talk start a new game in which you make us of hints....

Platinum #205: Tear -終わりとはじまりの雫-

Hey there! Tear - 終わりとはじまりの雫 - AKA Tear -Owari To Hajimari No Shizuku- is currently the cheapest available Visual Novel for PS4. What is the game all about? This game is a typical Visual Novel and offers everything this genre has to offer. There’s a weird story, guys with big guns, girls in bikinis, a lot of different endings and of course, a VR experience. Wait, what? A Visual Novel which requires the PlayStation VR Headset? Worry not, the VR element of this game is just a joke. A few times during the game you’ll find yourself in a “VR world” where you need to walk around and look at some white glowing circles. That’s all! The rest of the game is just text skipping. What about trophies? You’ll unlock trophies while progressing through the game and reaching different kind of endings. What’s specific for this game is that you’ll also unlock a trophy every time you finish one of the “VR” levels. The game is really easy and can be completed within a few hours. All you must do is to rea...

Platinum #204: CROSS†CHANNEL ~For all people~ (PS3 Version)

Hey there! After Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom I spend a few days in completing Driveclub . Driveclub was my first Platinum Trophy ever but I never found the time to finish the DLCs. Finally, it’s done and I could return to my Visual Novel backlog. What is the game all about? CROSS†CHANNEL ~ For all people ~ is like any other Visual Novel. And just like in any other Visual Novel, I was simply skipping through the game. Thus, I can’t say much about the story. The only thing I’ve noticed is that you’re a girl who seems to be trapped in some kind of time warp. You relive the same day over and over again. What about trophies? The game offers a trophy lists which is typically for Visual Novels. There are a lot of trophies which are based on the decision you make and, of course, there are also trophies for getting 100% music / scene / album and for reaching the true end. What’s different is that there is this one super-annoying trophy for which you must press O 10,000 times. This means t...

Platinum #203: Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom

Hey there! It has been a while since the last time I played a game developed by Artifex Mundi . Soon after starting the game I realized why. Because I hate Hidden Objective Puzzles. What is the game all about? Lost Grimoires: Stolen Kingdom is like any other game published by Artifex Mundi . It’s a Point & Click, in which you also need to solve a few mini-games and some Hidden Objective Puzzles (HOP). In case you don’t know what a HOP is: It’s a picture in which you can see a lot of different items and your task is to find specific ones. The game has the same graphical style and offers the same mechanics as other games by this publisher ( Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink, Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride, Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart… ). There’s also a story but as in any other Artifex Mundi game, it’s negligible. What about trophies? The good thing about this game is, you can unlock all trophies within one playthrough. To do so, you must beat the game on expert an...
