Platinum #208: Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey there!

Man, as a huge Marvel fan I was really waiting until all episodes of this game have been released so that I can finally play it. And I tell you, it was worth waiting.

What is the game all about?
As the name implies, the game is about Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot, the so-called Guardians of the Galaxy. The game follows the same spirit of the movies but isn't connected with them. The jokes are good and the music is just awesome. It’s not as good as the movies but if you liked them, you’ll also enjoy this game. Just like any other Telltale game, it comes in 5 episodes and in each you learn more about the backstory of one Guardian. You’ll also meet / fight some well-known characters like Nebula or the infamous Thanos. I don’t want to spoil too much of the story but be prepared for guarding the galaxy. ;-) By the way, one doesn't simply leave the game before the credits of episode 5 are over!

What about trophies?
It’s a Telltalegame so you don’t have to worry much about trophies. Simply play through all 5 episodes to unlock its Platinum Trophy. The choices you make have any high impact on the story but they don’t affect he trophies. The cool thing about the trophies is, that every trophy is called like a more or less famous song.

Where can I get this game?
Guardias of the Galaxy is available in the PSN store as well as a physical copy. Unless you’re a collector, it’s not worth getting the physical version. The digital version is on sale regularly and you can get it for 50% off or more. If you need PSN cards, you can buy them here. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
Yes, and this is true or any other Telltale game. It’s very easy and most of the time the game plays out on its own, giving you time to do something else. I for myself was playing Hatoful Boyfriend and Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Episode 1 on my Vita while playing / watching Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hey there! A short and easy pixel-art game with a few survival elements. Very enjoyable! What is the game all about? The Long Reach is a 2D side-scrolling adventure / point and click game mixed with a few survival horror elements. The pixel-art is very appealing and retro-fans will love this game. Most of the time you’re in control of Stuart, who acts as a guinea pig for a company called General Education. After a very confusing beginning, you’re trapped inside this company and you must find a way out. For this, must collect items and solve puzzles. Furthermore, you will learn more about the backstory and the main story will become clearer. Until drugs become involved – from then on, it’s hard to determine what’s real and what’s just an imagination. The game is very dark and the flashlight will become your best friend. Although it takes a while until you find it. As mentioned, this game also contains survival horror elements. Later in the game you encounter some enemies and you must f...
