Platinum #299: Heavy Fire: Afghanistan

Hey there!

I think this game would have been a little fun if played with a Move controller. With a normal controller, it’s just awful.

What is the game all about?
Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is an on-rails shooter. You take control over a soldier who’s send to war in Middle-East. And that’s exactly all the story has to offer. A typical kill-the-bad-guys shooter.
At the beginning, you’re forced to play through the game on Rookie difficulty. This difficulty is really no challenge and you shouldn’t have problems with any of the levels. There are a total of 12 missions which take about 10 minutes each. Additionally, there are 2 completely useless shooting range levels which take exactly 30 seconds each.
After every 2 levels, you’re awarded with a skill point. With this, you can level up your health bar, your weapon, the number of grenades you can carry, or your clip size.
After beating the game on Rookie, Veteran difficulty is unlocked. It’s the same levels, but the enemies with hit you more often. Luckily, your upgraded character carries over. This makes this difficulty any difficult at all.
I highly recommend to play this game with a Move controller. I did it with a normal DualShock controller and aiming was slow and awful.

What about trophies?
As you must play through the game twice, you’ll unlock most of the trophies naturally. You might need to grind a few headshots or fire a few more bullets to unlock the last trophies.
If you want to know more about these trophies, check out this trophy guide from playstationtrophies.org.

Where can I get this game?
Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is available physical, but can also found in the NA and JP PSN store. I couldn’t find it in the EU store anymore. It should be mentioned the JP version has its own stack.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them at play-asia.comor at scdkey.com. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
It’s an easy but bad game. If you have a Move controller, give it a try. Otherwise just skip this game.

Hey there! A short and easy pixel-art game with a few survival elements. Very enjoyable! What is the game all about? The Long Reach is a 2D side-scrolling adventure / point and click game mixed with a few survival horror elements. The pixel-art is very appealing and retro-fans will love this game. After a very confusing beginning, you’re trapped inside this company and you must find a way out. For this, must collect items and solve puzzles. Furthermore, you will learn more about the backstory and the main story will become clearer. Until drugs become involved – from then on, it’s hard to determine what’s real and what’s just an imagination. The game is very dark and the flashlight will become your best friend. Although it takes a while until you find it. As mentioned, this game also contains survival horror elements. Later in the game you encounter some enemies and you must f...
