Platinum #268: Ferrari The Race Experience

Hey there!

Thanks to the “Select + R1” trick, I could beat this game in 12 hours while reading Sleeping Beauties by Owen and Stephen King.

What is the game all about?
Ferrari The Race Experience is, as the name implies, a racing game with is all about Ferrari. The game features 34 licensed models, such as Enzo, 599XX, F355, GTO or the lesser-known California.
There are 16 official tracks and various game mode, like Carrere, Quick Race, Time Attack and Multiplayer, which will keep you busy for a while.
For an old PS3 game, the graphics are OK but could have been better. The controls aren’t perfect but the game supports the steering wheel. From what I’ve read, playing the game with the seeing wheel should be much easier.
A great feature of this game is that you can turn on / off all assist and chance the difficulty whenever you want. The game also offers a dynamical difficulty, which adapts to your skills.

What about trophies?
The majority of the trophies are for winning the career, the time attack races, the arcade mode and the so called Trofeo Events. Furthermore, you need to earn enough cash to buy all cars and drive for a total of 2,000 miles.
The game can be quite tough but there’s a trick which makes the game a 1/10. For this, you need to download the version from the EU store but don’t install the latest patch. With this unpatched version, you can instantly win all races by pressing “Select + R”. Unfortunately, you still must grind out the 2,000 miles. For further information check out this post on playstationtrophies.org.

Where can I get this game?
Ferrari The Race Experience is available physical, as well as digital in the PSN stores. Please note that only the digital EU version is the one on which works the “Select + R1”. Thus, it’s highly recommended to buy the EU version.
If you need PSN cards, you can buy them at play-asia.comor at scdkey.com. There you get digital codes, which will be send to you via e-mail within minutes.

As a trophy hunter, should I get this game?
Yes, but only if you buy the digital EU version. As you will spend a lot of time in the loading screen, it’s best to play some VNs on your Vita or reading a book while playing Ferrari The Race Experience.

Hey there! A short and easy pixel-art game with a few survival elements. Very enjoyable! What is the game all about? The Long Reach is a 2D side-scrolling adventure / point and click game mixed with a few survival horror elements. The pixel-art is very appealing and retro-fans will love this game. Most of the time you’re in control of Stuart, who acts as a guinea pig for a company called General Education. After a very confusing beginning, you’re trapped inside this company and you must find a way out. For this, must collect items and solve puzzles. Furthermore, you will learn more about the backstory and the main story will become clearer. Until drugs become involved – from then on, it’s hard to determine what’s real and what’s just an imagination. The game is very dark and the flashlight will become your best friend. Although it takes a while until you find it. As mentioned, this game also contains survival horror elements. Later in the game you encounter some enemies and you must f...
